BLACKPINK Star Jennie Announces New EP Fallen Angel

Building on the momentum of her solo debut Ruby, BLACKPINK member Jennie will release her new 3-track EP Fallen Angel on August 28 at 1 p.m. KST. Pitchfork reported that the project arrives via the idol’s own label, Odd Atelier, alongside Columbia Records. The announcement directly follows a busy calendar year that saw BLACKPINK return with their group EP, Deadline, alongside Jennie's recent first-ever performance at Summer Sonic Festival.

Jennie first teased the mystical-themed project on August 20 via an Instagram carousel captioned "one day it’ll all make sense," featuring photos where she posed before a winged statue so that she appeared to have wings. On Friday, the singer took to Instagram to unveil the tracklist alongside a sneak peek into the title track's music video, which Soompi confirmed was first released as a teaser on August 21 KST. The clip opens with spoken dialogue from a child: "Human greed has made them so heavy. But little one, close your eyes like I do. We can still fly."

The rollout represents a focused three-track release: "Fallen Angel," "HEAVEN," and her July romantic ballad "Less Than a Lover." Jennie maintains strong commercial momentum on global charts heading into this release cycle, with her featured appearance on the remix of Tame Impala's "Dracula" sitting at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 after reaching a peak at No. 5.

According to Soompi, Jennie's agency OA (ODD ATELIER) confirmed the digital EP drop time as 1 p.m. KST on August 28. This strategic dual distribution via OA and Columbia positions the 3-song collection for broad international streaming visibility, continuing the artist's creative evolution under her independent label.
