K-pop group The Boyz announced plans to resume group activities under 78 Records, a newly established agency founded by industry veterans who have worked with the act since its debut. The company recently completed legal procedures to establish a corporate body. Under the arrangement, 78 Records will manage group schedules, while the members maintain separate representation for their solo activities.
The group operates as a nine-member lineup consisting of Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric. The Boyz signed with One Hundred Label in late 2024, but nine members moved to terminate their exclusive contracts in February over unpaid settlements. In April, the Seoul Central District Court granted an injunction that suspended their contracts with the agency.
Member New did not join the lawsuit. Media reports state that he reached an agreement to end his contract with One Hundred in August after returning his signing fee, and he is expected to work as a solo artist. Following the court decision, the remaining nine members reformed the group and signed with individual agencies for personal projects before partnering with 78 Records for joint releases and appearances.
