Boy group ONEUS will release its 12th EP, "First Light," at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The project marks the five-member group's first release under its new agency, B. Wave Entertainment, and its first full-lineup record since leader Seoho completed his mandatory military service.
Both Korea JoongAng Daily and The Korea Times reported that all five members—Seoho, Leedo, Keonhee, Hwanwoong, and Xion—left former agency RBW in February after their contracts expired and transferred together to B. Wave Entertainment. The quintet originally debuted under RBW in January 2019 with the EP "Light Us." The new five-track release includes lead track "Say Yes!" produced by R. Tee, alongside B-side tracks "Runaway," "By chance," "Never Ending Us," and "We run for youth." Group members Leedo, Hwanwoong, and Keonhee contributed lyrics and composition to the B-sides.
The outlets added distinct background regarding the transition and album production. The Korea Times reported that B-Wave acquired the ONEUS intellectual property from RBW at the members' request. The outlet also noted that Seoho enlisted in February 2025 and was discharged in August, while the remaining four members released a single as a quartet in January. Furthermore, The Korea Times reported that B-Wave CEO Koo Bon-young previously worked with the group from debut, and that producer R. Tee is a labelmate at B-Wave.
Korea JoongAng Daily reported that B. Wave Entertainment was founded by a former RBW executive who oversaw ONEUS's production. According to Korea JoongAng Daily, Leedo co-composed and wrote lyrics for "Never Ending Us" and "By chance," Hwanwoong co-composed and wrote lyrics for "By chance," and Keonhee wrote lyrics for "We run for youth." Due to weekly music program cancellations during Chuseok and the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, the group prepared its own weekly music show titled "Show! Inki Music Countdown Bank" for fans.
