On August 24, 2PM member Jang Wooyoung revealed that he failed 6 consecutive auditions at JYP Entertainment before passing on his 7th try. The veteran performer detailed his journey during an episode of 'Producer Wooyoung' on his personal YouTube channel.

Wooyoung decided to pursue a music career at age 11 or 12, establishing a disciplined schedule of auditioning twice every calendar year. According to KBIZoom, Wooyoung told aspiring young performers, 'I thought I needed about six months to improve my skills, so I kept auditioning every six months.' This methodical six-month revision cycle demonstrates the sheer persistence required before his eventual breakthrough at the agency.

Koreaboo added that Wooyoung cautioned young talents against devoting all their energy strictly to vocal routines and choreography drills. In response to a parent asking what aspiring artists should avoid, Wooyoung explained, 'Singing, dancing, and skills are really important, but there are also many things you shouldn't do.' He urged young performers to spend quality time with parents and friends at home while discovering their distinct artistic identities.
